As the mystery unraveled with each passing minute, the ambiance around me seemed to fade away, leaving only the haunting voice of Marguerite Gavin echoing in my ears. As a 30-year-old woman, there’s something deeply engrossing about diving into a world of suspense and intrigue.

Barton crafts a tale that not only focuses on a sinister serial killer but delves deep into the psyche of her characters. Dallas Sloan’s determination to catch the killer, combined with Genny’s eerie visions, makes for a compelling narrative. The plot intricately weaves together the urgency of catching the killer before the next murder and the personal challenges of the protagonists.

Marguerite Gavin’s narration deserves particular praise. Her ability to bring out the tension in every scene, switching effortlessly between characters, and capturing the raw emotion of the storyline is commendable. Her modulation and pacing kept me on the edge of my seat throughout.
