Listening to the journey of Ciri, trapped in an elven world that seems devoid of any escape, was both riveting and heart-wrenching. I found myself sipping on my coffee, wrapped in a blanket on my cozy balcony, completely engrossed in Ciri’s adventures, feeling her despair and hope in equal measure.

The narrative masterfully navigates the complexities of the otherworldly realm Ciri finds herself in, an existence without portals, without time as we understand it. The audacious Ciri, trapped in such a setting, embodies the spirit of resilience. Her relentless will to reunite with Geralt and her allies became a testament to the human spirit’s perseverance against adversity.

Narrator Peter Kenny does a phenomenal job, his voice adding layers to Sapkowski’s already intricate narrative, which David French skillfully translated. Kenny’s portrayal of each character, especially Ciri’s, painted vivid pictures in my mind, making the world of The Witcher tangible.

To listeners who have already ventured into the previous installments like The Tower of the Swallow, this book promises familiar excitement and unforeseen twists. However, newcomers too can find themselves swept up in the enigma of the Elven world and Ciri’s tenacity.
