The night prior to that the Hogwarts Express departs, Harry discovers the possibility that Sirius Black is a convicted murderer, believed to be planning to murder Harry. The following day the next day, there is a Dementor board the Hogwarts Express, causing Harry to fall ill. Luckily, the newly-appointed Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher Remus Lupin is present to stop it. Harry, Ron, and Hermione discover that Dementors are patrolling all over the school to defend Harry against Sirius.

Harry has a number of problems with the Dementors which includes an incident in which, during a match of quidditch the player faints and is thrown off his broomstick fifty feet up in the air. The broom gets smashed with The Whomping Willow. Lupin in the outside of class is teaching Harry to ward off dementors with The Patronus Charm.

Without a permission slip that is signed by a guardian, Harry cannot participate in the weekend trips to Hogsmeade together with the upperclassmen. George along with Fred Weasley gives Harry a Marauder’s Map, which details the secret passageways in Hogwarts as well as live markers of those who pass through the routes. Harry utilizes this map in order to escape into Hogsmeade where he hears an exchange between students regarding the fact that Sirius Black was a family companion and godfather to Harry who was a traitor to his parents and gave Voldemort the address of the safe house. Black was also found guilty of killing 13 Muggles as well as their companion Peter Pettigrew.

Ron is chased by Scabbers and is attacked by a large black dog, who takes him down an underpass beneath the Whomping Willow into the Shrieking Shack. Harry and Hermione pursue him to locate Ron and Sirius who is Animagus and can change into a dog at any time. Lupin arrives and explains that the werewolf is his name and that led his companions James Potter, Peter Pettigrew along with Sirius Black to become Animagi. Lupin says to his companions the group that Scabbers is Pettigrew in animal form. He is trying to hide away from Sirius after he caught him killing Harry’s parents as well as thirteen Muggles.

Severus Snape is on the lookout to capture Sirius however, Harry knocks him down. Lupin along with Sirius changes Peter into a human and is preparing to kill him. Harry is able to stop them, telling the king that his father wouldn’t ever want this.

At midnight, Lupin turns into a werewolf and becomes violent. Peter is able to escape again, but Sirius stops Lupin from attacking others. The demented approach them, and the three begin to lose consciousness. After they awake inside the hospital Harry, Ron, and Hermione discover that Sirius was sent to receive the Dementor’s Kiss. It eliminates all souls of the person receiving it. Dumbledore recommends Hermione make use of her time-turner in order to travel back in time to save Buckbeak, who then carries Sirius away to safety.

Prisoner of Azkaban has forever been one of my most loved Harry Potter books. There is an extraordinary combination of excitment, humor, and terror factor. Alongside it pushing the story ahead and presenting new characters positively.

I love the advancement of Hermione in this book. Genuinely not that much occurs with Harry and Ron (which feels consistent with the age they are), yet Hermione starts to blossom, as a matter of fact. This book generally makes me wish I had perused it when I was as old as the characters (I was in my late teenagers when I began understanding HP). Hermione is such a lot of like me. The fanatical need to know it all, and to show it off. Taking on too much, and afterward declining to just let it out before nearly having a mental meltdown. These are all me (both then and presently). Also, I figure it would have been perfect to have somebody to whom I could connect with growing up.
