In this installment of the Dresden Files series, our protagonist Harry Dresden is back from the dead and thrust back into the world of humans. The stakes are high as Harry is tasked with assassinating an immortal, but it’s his inner struggle for independence that truly captivated me. With each page, I couldn’t help but root for Harry as he navigated through treacherous alliances and faced formidable enemies.

While James Marsters’ narration was generally good, there were moments where I felt he could have brought more depth to certain scenes. Additionally, a bit more explanation about the different realms would have helped solidify the fantastical elements of the story.
