It was a lazy Sunday morning, and I decided to take my audiobook listening outside to my little garden. The sun was just starting to warm up the air, and the birds were chirping softly in the background. I settled into my favorite lounge chair with a cup of tea, ready to dive into “Spell of the Highlander Audiobook” by Karen Marie Moning. From the very first chapter, I was hooked.

The story follows Jessi St. James, an archaeology student who’s been buried in her studies for far too long. Her life takes a wild turn when she discovers a mysterious mirror – and inside it, a breathtakingly handsome Highlander named Cian MacKeltar. At first, Jessi thinks she’s hallucinating from exhaustion (I mean, who wouldn’t?), but when danger strikes, she realizes this man is very real – and very much needed.

What I loved most about this audiobook was how it blended romance, fantasy, and adventure so seamlessly. Jessi is such a relatable character – smart, determined, but also vulnerable in ways that made me root for her from the start. And Cian? Oh my goodness. Phil Gigante’s narration brought him to life in such a captivating way. His deep, commanding voice perfectly captured Cian’s alpha male energy while also revealing his softer side as he protected Jessi and fought against his own dark past.

The chemistry between Jessi and Cian was electric. Their banter had me smiling one moment and holding my breath the next as their relationship deepened amidst all the chaos. The mix of humor, passion, and suspense kept me glued to my headphones until the very end. I even found myself lingering in my garden long after finishing just to savor the story.

Karen Marie Moning has this incredible ability to create worlds that feel both magical and grounded in emotion. And with Phil Gigante’s narration adding layers of intensity and charm, “Spell of the Highlander” became an unforgettable listening experience for me.
