The ambiance was perfect – dim lighting, with soft jazz playing in the background. The world that Anne Rice painted was intricately detailed and engaging, and it provided the perfect escape.

Tobey O’Dare, an ex-assassin turned angel time-traveler, is a complex character. The juxtaposition of his dark past with his angelic endeavors offers a captivating duality. As the story unfolded, O’Dare’s struggle with morality, love, and redemption kept me glued to my seat.

Anne Rice’s decision to set the tale amid the iconic Roman cityscape, draped with shifting clouds, was masterful.
