It was a quiet evening, the kind where the world feels like it’s holding its breath. I sat on my porch swing, wrapped in a cozy blanket, with a steaming cup of chamomile tea in hand. The stars were just beginning to peek through the twilight sky, and I decided it was the perfect moment to dive into Hexed Audiobook by Kevin Hearne. From the very first chapter, I was hooked – Atticus O’Sullivan’s world is one I never want to leave.

Hexed is Book 2 in the Iron Druid Chronicles, and it picks up right where Hounded left off. Atticus, the last of the Druids, finds himself entangled in yet another supernatural mess. This time, witches are at the center of it all – badass witches with dark histories tied to World War II. The plot is fast-paced and layered with humor, action, and mythology that keeps you on your toes. What I loved most was how seamlessly Hearne weaves together Celtic lore with modern-day Arizona. It’s quirky, clever, and utterly captivating.

Luke Daniels’ narration is nothing short of phenomenal. His ability to bring each character to life is astounding – whether it’s Atticus’ dry wit or Oberon the wolfhound’s hilarious commentary (seriously, Oberon steals every scene he’s in). Daniels also nails the accents for characters like Granuaile and Leif Helgarson, adding depth and authenticity to their personalities. The sound effects sprinkled throughout enhance the experience without being overwhelming; they make you feel like you’re right there alongside Atticus as he battles Bacchants or negotiates with goddesses.

One thing that stood out to me was how relatable Atticus felt despite his immortality and magical abilities. His struggles with balancing his duties as a Druid while trying to live a somewhat normal life resonated deeply with me – especially when he has to deal with an overbearing Celtic goddess who won’t take no for an answer! It made me laugh out loud more than once.

By the time I finished Hexed Audiobook late into that starry night (yes…I stayed up way too late), I felt both satisfied and eager for more from this series. If you enjoy urban fantasy filled with sharp humor , rich mythology ,and unforgettable characters ,this audiobook is definitely worth your time .And if you haven’t started this series yet ?
